MFSO National Assembly Travel
Information

When you arrive, please check in at the MFSO registration table to receive additional information about activities and events.

Many MFSO members traveling from out of town will be staying at the Marriott a short walking distance from the campus:

For those of you traveling by plane the following information was provided by VFP for you to get to the campus from airports in the area:

D.C. National Airport:  

Take the Yellow Metrorail line from the airport to College Park ($4.05 or less.)  At L’Enfant Plaza, transfer to the Green line to College Park station.  Shuttle-UM runs a free bus from the EAST side of College Park Metrorail station to a stop across from the Stamp Student Union (SSU).    Or, Super Shuttle: $28.00 one-way.   Or, Taxi: 15 miles.  Approximately $30.

Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI):

Metrobus B30 (see schedule at www.wmata.com) will take you from the airport to the Greenbelt  Metrorail station [$3.10 cash or less].   From there take the westbound C2 bus toward Wheaton Station [$1.35 cash or less].  Get off on campus at the Stamp Student Union [SSU].   Or, Super Shuttle: $32.00 one-way.   Or, Taxi: 25 miles. Approximately $60.

If traveling by car:

The College Park campus sits inside the D.C. beltway [Rte 495] on Baltimore Avenue [Rte 1] exit 25B. Follow directions to the campus.

Getting Around

Shuttle-UM, the university bus service provides a free ride from a stop across from the Stamp Student Union [SSU] to the College Park Metrorail station.  For Shuttle-UM schedules, see www.transportation.umd.edu/ this is the shuttle to the College Park Metrorail station.

Metrorail, or Metrobus can provide transportation to many visitor sites throughout Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.  For information on bus and subway schedules, see www.wmata.com
